Client Capture Guide

One slow phone video. That's all we need.

A True 3D Walkthrough is built from a single 5–8 minute video anyone can shoot during a turnover — you, your cleaner, your co-host. No equipment, no site visit, about ten minutes including prep.

What you need

  • Any smartphone from the last ~4 years (iPhone 12+ or comparable Android)
  • Phone held horizontal — this is the #1 rule
  • A clean camera lens (wipe it — it genuinely matters)
  • 5–8 minutes of continuous filming time

Prep the space — 5 minutes

  • Every light on: overheads, lamps, under-cabinet
  • Blinds and curtains open; film mid-morning or mid-afternoon
  • Stage it like a listing photo: lids down, counters cleared, beds made
  • Ceiling fans and TVs off — anything moving blurs in 3D
  • Pets and people out of frame for the whole take

The technique

Move slowly

Half your normal walking speed — slower than feels natural. Hold the phone at chest height with two hands, elbows tucked, like you're carrying a full cup of coffee.

One continuous take

Don't stop and restart between rooms. Pause briefly at each doorway and sweep the room from the threshold before entering. If it goes badly wrong, just start over — it's only a few minutes.

Sweep and overlap

Walk each room's perimeter, camera aimed at the center. A full left-to-right sweep should take 8–10 seconds. Seeing parts of a room twice from different angles is good, not a mistake.

The route

  1. Exterior front — curb to front door
  2. Entry / foyer
  3. Main living area
  4. Kitchen — sweep counters and appliances slowly
  5. Dining area
  6. Bedrooms, largest first
  7. Bathrooms — step inside, slow sweep
  8. Outdoor amenities — patio, pool, deck, view

Common mistakes

  • Vertical phone
  • Fast pans or whip turns
  • Filming while walking backwards
  • Skipping bathrooms or closets guests will ask about
  • Dark rooms — the camera won't "see it fine"
  • Stopping and starting multiple clips

Sending the video

Upload the single file at original quality to your Real Estate Remotion Drive folder (link in your welcome email). Don't send via text or WhatsApp — they compress the file and cost you quality. Mirrors: angle slightly away so you're not standing dead-center in the reflection. Tricky property — loft, tight stairwell, very large home? Reply to your welcome email and we'll walk you through it.
